HOLA!!!
oh dear dad has been learning spainish...now that gets me worried. but it does bring me back alot of hilarious memories. Go re live those memories dad. remember you CAN speak whatever langauge she want if you put the accent on...hahaha!!!
so in answer to your random question. I speak french with some missionaries. but at conferences etc no, everyone speaks english apart from the missionaries who are from france etc. But with my companion we speak French outside of the apartment. And then english inside of the apartment (so i dont go insane) haha! and some spainish here and there...haha just kidding!! Oh and the game was hilarious. Sister Brown was like ``everyone take your shoes off, head outside, we are playing a game!`` haha and it was like charades and you had to have one foot in the paddling pool and do a charade for your team the other end of the field and then if they got it right you run back and switch with another companionship and then its the first team to get 7. haha it was soo much fun..maybe too much fun!!
The sisters you have in colchester ward sound amazing. dad sent an email to all of the missionaries explaining how great they were when they went round for dinner. And how he did think of me and all the other missionaries learning a language when sister chow was sharing her testimony. Did you get a little glimpse of what i look like trying to speak French? haha!! I am so glad they are so great though. and i already love them so much because they are with me on the whole tan line game!! haha!!
sooo who is ready to hear about my week?? it Think lucy and ed are! But the rest of you..its fine you go swim in the pool or make a sandcastle!! haha
OK HERE WE GOOO.....
First! last P day we were in Geneva coming back from the conference and we played a game of football! It was so epic! And i`ll just put it in that i may of scored a few goals here and there...haha! it was so great though!! There were about 20 of us there! and i love when we get to do things as a bigger group of missionaries! It just boosts you up! so anyway that was a great start to the week!!
so Anne-Charlotte!! IS DEFINATELY GETTING BAPTISED. Because it is happening and i am TOO EXCITED!! She is so excited for it! and her husband who is now reactivated can baptise her!! its seriously SO perfect!! But in our rdv this week she turned to me and said ``theres transfers coming up soon isnt there?`` and frowned at me! because i have been here a little While now i may not be here for the baptism! but anyway thats not important!! It is going to be ONE EPIC journey for her and her family. Because her and her husband have the goal to be sealed as a family next year. And she says all the time when we speak about temples how she has to wait a year but she is excited for it!!! SO next year they will be sealed as a family!!! AH I CANT WAIT!!!
So our old ami `who is being taught by the elders now is doing incredibly. We spoke to the elders about him and they told us how he wants to be baptised so badly. even if he cant. But he has so much faith now. and i was thinking back to the time we first contacted him and he didnt speak alot of french or english so we had to use the translator on his phone to communicate with him for most of the conversation! And we didnt even know if he would trun up to the next rdv! But he did, and now he is being taught by the elders and he is progressing so well. He is a miracle. Him learning of christ has changed him as a person, i can see it! and its one incredible thing to see!!
SO this week the weather has been pretty bad! Its rained here ALOT too!! And people go moody in the rain! ahah its true, no one wants to speak to you! (i have sent a photo.... people thought we were nuns haha)... so its been a little more difficult this week! But its been amazing all the same!! I think from the photo...people i think thought we were nuns!! haha! one man we were walking towards and he just shouted ``NO!`` and walked off! haha and we didnt even get to speak with him! But its been funny!!
MIRACLE - we were contacting and without tellling my companion i just walked straight up to this one guy sitting on a bench in the park! We ended up sitting on the bench teaching him for nearly an hour! And it was a miracle. He asked if he could have a book of mormon in german. So we arranged to meet the next day. He showed up and we taught him more on the book of mormon, and answered his questions. He lives in Zurich, but he said he would contact the missionaries there as he has more questions! miracle!!
CUTE MOMENT OF THE WEEK - so our ami Dario - he is 80 years old and he is adorable!! haha!! he is an ex champion boxer of swiss and he knew charlie chaplin etc he is pretty cool!!!! anyway he was showing us all his souvenirs and medals etc at his home and he asked our member we had with us ``do you believe in reincarnation??`` and she laughed and said of course not. And it seemed like he was offended and said ``no its true. i can prove it to you-.`` i think we all got a bit scared in that moment. and then he showed us his ``snails`` (I HAVE SENT A PICTURE SO IT MAKES SENSE. AND YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELVES) so he eats the snails. and then with their shell he moulds clay into it and make the shape of a snail! hahahahaha i cried with laughter because it was just sooo cute and hilarious!!! look at the photo and you`ll see!! anyway....
CONTACTING MIRACLE - so we were contacting in this park. and no one was wanting to speak with us for some reason! But we both felt like taking this little pathway into the park (it was random to go down there) but we both were like ``we should go down here`` ...a man was sitting on a bench down there, and we spoke, and he was one who was ready to hear the gospel. He has a very basic understanding of religion. and is very interested in learning more with us! MIRACLE. we were literally directly lead to him! And we are seeing him later on today!
FHE - we had a fhe with one of our amis this week with a cool member family!! And it was incredible to see what a difference members make. members you literally HAVE NO IDEA how essential you truly are in this work. Your vital!! i saw that this week! It made me start thinking alot on how i can become a true member missionary when i get home!! But it was amazing to see what a difference it makes to the ami and how they feel at church etc!
Mum and dad i have had a kebab!!!! haha and it was DELICIOUS!! i am now joining the kebab team on take away nights!! ( oh what you become on a mission..haha) ...anyway that was very random...
STUDY TIME!! haha - something i wanted to share was a talk i read this week. ``live according to the words of the prophets`` - and she say:
``according to the worlds standards, following the prophet may be unpopular, politically incorrect, or socially unacceptable. BUt following the prophet is ALWAYS right...`` - i absolutely loved this part of the talk- its easy to listen to the world and become afraid and trapped into thinking following the world is the best thing for us to do. Following the world is the easiest thing to do, but it will never be the right thing to do. If we have a strong testimony that our prophet and all the prophets who have lived are men called of God with a divine power then the world`s voices are not louder and they are not stronger. I know from experience that following the prophet is absolutely ALWAYS right. it will never be wrong. I know that Thomas s Monson is a man called of God to lead us in these days. We have all been saved for this time, and he is here to HELP, GUIDE and SHOW us how we can stay on the straight path! I love him and i know that if we always strive to follow the prophet we will never go too far off the path!!
she also says: `` when we heed ot the words of the prophets, we build our homes and OUR LIVES upon an eternally sure foundation..`` - what more could you want than an eternally sure foundation!!?
random note for you lovelies ...getting into the holiday spirit with you i had egg and chips!! HAHA doesnt that bring back memories...when we go to another country and we always asked for egg and chips!! hahaha!! ahh love it!!
Hey how cool is this. So you know its weird enough that me and sam are in the same mission. but yesterday we taught together!! haha!! how crazy is that! Would you ever imagine that me and sam just sitting there teaching together in French?? It was so cool!! I love him so much. incredible missionary!!
THANK YOU ALSO HECTORS FOR YOUR LETTERS!! literally MADE MY WEEK!!! i loved them sooooo much!! im sorry if i dont get a chance to write this week. If not this week...it will definately be this week!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!
As you can tell this week has been another great one! and this coming week is going to be epic...i`ll be soaking up the sun on the beach one day, maybe the pool the next, go out to dinner at the harbour the next and get some ice cream...oh no wait thats you!! haha!!
We have alot fo rdvs fixed with the members this week! so i can tell its going to be so great!! And i have an exchange with our STL`S this week too!! so im excited for that!!
OK I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
HAVE AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE WEEK!!
LOVE YOUR ONE AND ONLY....
