Ahhhhh i say this every week i know BUT I LOVE YOU GUYS. AND YOUR EMAILS. AND THE PHOTOS AND EVERYTHING!! you are just too incredible.
I cant believe me and elder spoors are serving pretty much together either!! it is epic. there is no other way to describe it. Its weird calling him elder spoors all the time though...that will take some time!! BUT IT IS INCREDIBLE. he has changed alot over his mission, he is one incredible missionary, and i am not just saying that because he is family, like he really is a fantastic missionary!! sash and rodger he has done you proud!! he just connects with all the members, and he cares so much about everyone else! ah i could write alot! lets just say elder spoors is doing amazingly out here!!
You sound like you have all had yet another fantastic week! its always SO great to hear!!!! i cant believe i missed the christians!!! i bet it was so much fun!! i guess ill have to go out to america and visit to make up for the loss...mum are you in...are you in?? haha!!
So as you know i got a new companion this week!! so to tell you a little! she is shorter than me (I KNOW) haha!! she is THE kindest person i think ive ever met. so humble. everyday i find little notes hidden on my things from her etc!! seriously she is incredible. and she is spainish so i really do think heavenly father wants me to learn spainish somewhere along this journey!! haha!! But it has been an ansolutely amazing first week with her in lausanne!!
SO...ARE YOU READY...I KNOW YOU ARE...HERE WE GOOOOO!!....
so first thing is first....i got proposed to this week!!! HAHAHAH!! it was so funny! i knew it would make you laugh! and no dad i know what your thinking i was not flirting or anything ok!! haha! he was spainish, so the whole conversation my companion was having to translate for him and for me! just to make that clear!! haha!! anayway then he just says in spainish that he wanted to marry me...and sister greciano struggled to translate to me through her laughter!! i just went blank and didnt know what to do...it was pretty awkward but voila!! it was funny!!
so MOVING ON SWIFTLY...
MIRACLE - we have a less active family who we have not been able to see since my transfer with sister francis, never there, cancelling etc. So we had time before a RDV so we felt like we could pass that family. As we went they were just leaving the apartment but invited us to go back up and share a message with them. MIRACLE IN ITSELF TO SEE THEM. and then we were sharing and the mother said she really needed the spirit brought into her home because it hasnt been there for a long time. And thanked us for thinking of them to visit! They are leaving on holiday for a few months too! so it was perfect timing!! heavenly father knew they needed the visit, then and there!! it was a miracle moment!!
STUDY- this week in one of my studies i read the talk ``the character of christ`` by elder bednar. And he speaks about how in the word ``charcter`` it is made up of the three letters A,C,T! And how that really is the only way we can develop a christlike character is through acting. Making the choice!
he also says in his talk ``may we reach outward when the natural tendancy for us is to turn inward...`` that is the true character of christ. Turning outwards in situations when it would be natural to turn inward and focus on ourselves. TURN OUTWARD¨!
MIRACLE - this is a right place, right time miracle!! so our ami moved our rdv to another day. so we were heading to a park to do some contacting and we met a lady on the way,who recognised us straight away. and we find out she has read the whole book of mormon. She had a bestfriend who was a member of the church, but he died a few years ago. and then she didnt have anyone to continue to discuss the church with, because she always spoke to him about it all. So now she has met us and can discuss it with us of course!! MIRACLE!
Ok we had the best RDV this week with a less active!! so her children are not members. and as we were teaching her daughter and husband and child turn up and it was a little awkward at first. But then we got talking and they ended up inviting us to eat with them. and guess what i did---i taught the little girl the cup song. with the cUp. and they wanted me to sing the song in english but the only one i could remember was the one i had made up for ed!! so i sang that one! they couldnt understand it but it was so funny!! and the daughter gave us a lift home and you just never know do you...its the little things that make the biggest difference!
So we have an ami who has been taught for more than 3 years. and she has a strong testimony of everything. so we decided this week to go back to the fundamental, simple truths of the gospel. How we have a heavenly father who loves us so much that he actually created aplan for each one of us to return back to live with him again. If anyone is struggling or will struggle with their testimony of the restored gospel of jesus christ, i invite to go back and study, read, and pray about the beautiful, simple truths of the gospel!!
Ami who is californian! he has sooooo many questions. which is great. But its very difficult to teach someone who does not want to listen, who only wants to speak, and fight against everything we say. Its very difficult. but a beautiful thing happened, we asked him if he was interested in learning more, we asked him why he was meeting with us and we asked him is it helping him in any way. And i think i was expecting him to say something like `` i dont know why im meeting you or just because..`` but he said `` i know you may think, or it may seem like you are not helping me, but you are. trust me. please dont give up on me!!`` that really really struck me!! We never know what impact we are having on these people. We never give up even if it looks like that is the right thing to do. we wait, we try..many times if we have to! we plant the seed and then wait! Its the same with our friends, if they say no, or always fight with you about it, do not give up, ever, dont fight back. but you can keep planting seeds in simple ways!!
MIRACLE - contacted a man - who was on holiday here in lausanne for just one day. He is from spain! and he HAD been meeting with the missionaries aa few months ago, but had stopped. We actually taught him there on the street and got him to find the spark again to contact the missionaries in spain. i really think he will. But who knows. But how incredible is that, he was here only for one day and we were led to him.
So as you can see my week has been full of miracles! The mission is one big miracle!!
We were walking in the centre ville today and there were people doing questionaries and we had to stop for every single one because we knew exactly how they felt!! haha have fun shopping with me when i get home mum...we will have to stop with everyone! haha!!
My amazing family i love you soo much. i hope you have another incredible week, i cant wait to hear all about it!! I have some photos to send you from today, for p day we played volleyball with elder spooooooors!! it was so much fun!!
Family, i love where i am right now. Not in place but in testimony wise. I would never ever change this decision for the world. i cannot believe how lucky missionaries are to get this experience, the chance to grow, the chance to help others grow, the chance to feel of gods love for them more than they can ever ever ever imagine, the chance to become the person heavenly father knows we can become. I am so grateful! I love the gospel of jesus christ of latter day saints. the church is true. you know it is. There is so much happiness to be found in its teachings. I love my heavenly father, i love how much he cares about each of us. I love how he gives us challenges to mould us into someone better. I am so grateful for this life we have now, this incredble journey we have, to just be happy and love everyone and live the gospel to its fullest!!
have another incredible week!
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH YOU DONT EVEN KNOW!!!!
LOVE YOUR ONE AND ONLY...
