Another week has gone and your emails are always the best! I just love you all!!
Your week sounds so great. YOU SAID. You were going to have an epic week. Sooooo glad it was!!! And what did I say...I said "I will have an epic week too and well...
ARE YOU READY FOR ANOTHER EPIC WEEK. HERE WE GO...
The week started off epically..(if that's a word) we spent p day with the elders and Lausanne sisters and we all went to a members restaurant and ate epinadas!!! BUT elder spoors was sick then...and who does it pass it on to? Moi!!!!
This week I have had a cold, cough and all those little things that come along with that. But I heard Lucy is sick too...so I guess I'm not suffering alone!! Haha! It's been a little annoying ..but it's ok! Not dying! Anyway I'm babbling!!...
EXCHANGE- we had an exchange Tuesday to Wednesday with our stls!! It was so great! I was with sister monson! And she is incredible. I love serving with her. She just loves everyone so much and it's so visible!! I absolute love exchanges because you learn so much from who you serve with.
We left Wednesday evening to get to Lyon, ready for the conference on Thursday! And who do I see first...SOEUR WILSHER!!! Wooooo!! It's so amazing!! We talked the whole journey!! It was just so great to see her. She is doing amazing. It felt like so long, but it had only been like 8 weeks!! Haha!! No one can ever not be happy around sister wilsher!! Love that girl!
We also got reunited with our mtc companion sister Kearney!! I love it when we are altogether!! (I have pictures to send of the conference...remember I was ill. So my eyes look a bit dead in some of them!! Haha...just a pre warning)
SOOOO are you ready to be bombarded with my notes from the most incredible conference I have had on my mission so far??? Thought so!!!!!...
- president brown spoke a lot on the adversary and the destructive nature of the adversary. He reminded us that satan has already succeeded in deceiving one third of our brothers and sisters. And he will not stop, it was not enough, he wants everyone, and he will keep trying to deceive you. (Kind of scary but true.) when we are living as righteous disciples of Jesus Christ, it scares him. He is afraid of you. He fears because he too knows of our potential, he can see it. He knows we have the capability to overcome all and achieve the impossible. So DONT back down. When you get thrown a few challenges here and there, do not back down. Remember we are here to be tested.
- elder Adler was visiting and he spoke a lot on the atonement. This was an extremely powerful part of the conference. One thing I LOVED that h said was " the atonement leaves NO TRACE" he spoke on how our past mistakes can be and will be completely eliminated through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I loved this, because it is one way we are deceived by the adversary, and that is concerning our past. A lot of the times satan will have you think that you are not good enough, that maybe you have gone too far and there is no more hope for you. Maybe he will get you feeling like you are still not forgiven!! But do not listen. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, it is possible for all mistakes to be eliminated from our book of life. For there is no trace!! It was so powerful, I loved it so much.
-he also spoke on how we are here to find THE ONE. The one who in the pre existence begged you to come and find them. We need to go and find the one! I absolutely loved this too!! We are here to find those we promised before this life to find!!! And we don't need to be missionaries to find the one. We need to be living the gospel and sharing it as much as we possibly can, just to try and find the one!
-sister brown spoke on how we are all one big team. And we have a game plan. We have the perfect materials or game book to help us (the scriptures, pmg etc) we have a coach who is leading us. He is rooting us on and he is playing with us. Christ gave the greatest play! Follow his play and we will win. I loved her little analogy! And I am SO HAPPY to be a part of this play!!! It's the greatest!!! And we are in the last minute, all for all!!!! Haha (I sound like an American...)
-something I loved that sister Adler said was "anything that Christ lays his hands on. Lives. Let him touch your companionship and it will live."
It's the same for marriage too ...I think...haha...as a companionship as we are focusing on becoming like our savior together and letting him guide our team, it lives!!
The stake president of the Lyon stake spoke too!! And he spoke on the less actives of the church and said "help those who are lost, return back to the tree of life - to taste the fruit they they have once already tasted.." I loved it. Because we need to just help them taste the fruit once more, see the fruits of the gospel again!
Elder Adler gave us a testimony challenge to those who are learning French.its a 30 day challenge. And we had to film ourselves bearing our testimony on Jesus Christ in French, day one. And then everyday for thirty days, practice with our companion bearing testimony on Jesus Christ. And then day thirty, video again. And watch the two and see the difference!! I'm excited to see the difference!! Thought it was a very cool challenge!! (Oh and my companion has to do it in English!!)
Sooooo as you can tell IT WAS ONE EPIC CONFERENCE. I can't really explain the feeling during the conference. It was simply incredible. (Even if I was the annoying one coughing and blowing my nose the whole way...I still felt the spirit...hope everyone else did too! Ha)
We had the baptism of Francois on Saturday!!!!!!!! Woo!! (I will send a picture)... It was another incredible experience. He was soooo happy. And the sun was shining through the window and he turned to me and said "just for me! This is the most beautiful day of my whole life"
My talk went well..I think...haha in my manly voice I have right now! I'm pretty sure they understood!!!! Haha!!!
So we were not really there much in our area this week. As we had the exchange and the conference!! But it was an incredible week. We had a ward linger longer lunch yesterday too, and I LOVE THIS WARD. THE MEMBERS ARE SO GREAT. I feel so comfortable with all the members!!! I am just so happy here. But I CANNOT believe we are on week five of this transfer. Next week we RECIEVE the transfer calls....can you believe that!? I have a feeling my companion is leaving me as she has been here for six weeks. So I better learn this area quicker!! Haha!!
My family and friends. I love you SO much. Thank you for all your emails and photos and everything! You truly are THE BEST!!! You give me sooooo much strength every single week!!
