Ok i have sooooooo much to update you on!!
So my last week of the MTC was pretty amazing - i want to tell you about the last lesson i had with soeur Worsham. So she got us all to sit in a circle and there was a hot seat infront of everyone - and we all had to take in in turns to take the hot seat. and everyone had to say what they loved about that person!! It was soooo lovely. THEN soeur Worsham got up and said "ok there is one person left" and she picks up a picture of the saviour and sits it on the chair - we all go around again and just pour our hearts out on how much we love and why we are so thankful for our saviour. COOL right?... again one of the greatest spiritual experiences i have had so far!!
Ok also on the last sunday of the MTC - we had the 1st counsellor on the Primary presidency come and speak to us (Brother and sister Stevens) - and they announced they had been called as the new england london mission president ..starting in July!! SO i went up to them and the ladies were like body guarding them - telling me i couldnt speak with them - and so it was like a battle - haha me and these old ladies (i was not being disobedient father i promise) anyway..eventually Brother Stevens came over to us because my companion had given the musical item to say thank you! So i got my chance to say HI!! And he is going to say hi to you guys when he arrives!! Haha your going to love them! And they will still be there when i get home soo woohoo!!
SO yes sister Francis is my trainer!!! and i am her last companion so i get her last spark!! It has been an incredible first week in the mission field. I am in love with it already. She is a fantastic missionary and i know i am going to learn ALOT from her. To see how she has changed aswell - she is literally SO incredible. We have alot of fun too..AND WE WORK HARD!! (dont you worry father). So we have alot of investigators at the moment, and we are working very closely with the less active member's in our ward. The Members are so lovely. And alot of them speak english - so when they listen to me speak French and realise im struggling then they help me out with a few english words!! haha!!
So on my first day we had a teaching appointment with one of our investigators - but on the way sister francis felt inspired to go and see a less active family that they have been trying to see for a long time - we turned up at their door and the mother started to cry - she said how recently she has been feeling very distant from the church and she was missing having it in her life so god really did send us to her - she needed us then and there. It was so great!!
President Roney is SO amazing!! He has all these cool little creations that i know you will love dad - so he has this thing called 'the spark' - and its where you have to go up to somebody and just spark them - tell them how much you love their bag or their hair or just say anything to make them smile!! Haha it's sooo much fun...just bringing a smile to the swiss people through my broken french!! HA!! Some do give me weird looks though...who knows what im saying to them!!!
Also there is this thing called 'roney patterning' - so you take an attribute of christ or anything and you study it completly and you apply what you learn everyday and you visualize using this attribute and how you would overcome challenges with it..and then you perfect it.
Also we are doing 'Project Elijah' - which is speaking to people about their families. So we have a questionaire to stop and ask people and we have had sooo much success already - the whole mission has!! And handing out my family booklets to those who are interested!! So Dad and mum and mum any stories you have about your grandparents etc etc please send them to me so i can put them in my book!!!! LOVE YA
On Friday another miracle we had some extra time before an appointment so we decided to go knocking on doors - and we got 4 NEW INVESTIGATORS - it was so amazing!! We are teaching them again this week so i will fill you in!!
The trains and bus rides we take are SO beautiful - the houses and the lakes - it really is a beautiful place!!
In my interview with President Roney he said one thing to me and it has really encouraged me he said: " it is your choice to be happy" - only you can choose that. I knew this week was going to be very difficult which it has been but i have chosen to be happy and stay very positive and i have seen blessings because of that choice.
THANK YZOU for the package!! it arrived the day i arrived...so perfect timing!! The chocolate keeps me going..ahaha every time i'm in the apartment soeur Francis will look at me and i'll just be chomping on the goodies. BUT DO NOT FEAR i am not getting fat because soeur francis has this excercise plan for every morning...I DIE EVERY MORNING. but its good!! We went running this morning - hahahah you know me and running - i know your all laughing right now. STOP im going to be pro when i return!!
so we have a less active family - the mother has just recently been re-activated but when the sister missionaries started teaching her she did not want her son to be baptised - on saturday we were able to set a date for him to be baptised!! YAY
Another member - she has been in active for a long time - we saw her yesterday - we went round their for dinner and she is sooooo strong - she was pretty much teaching us - she now as of yesterday WANTS TO SERVE A MISSION - AMAZING!! She is sooo cool!!
So here in switzerland THERE ARE SO MAny different languages!! We have a family where the daughter is the only one who speaks French so after every sentence she has to translate for her parents- its really magical though because we are teaching so simply and really thats all i can do right now anyway!! haha
So our goal this transfer is to have 4 baptisms and re-activate 6 members as a district!! LETS DO THIS!!
also a cool thing we do with the ward - the stake president wants members praying with us - so before we go into a lesson we call a member and they pray with us - it brings unity and its sooo special!
So overall my first week has been...well INCREDIBLE. i love it so much. i love being a missionary. The lord really is blessing this mission. We are seeing his hand in everything we do. I know the church is true. There is NO doubt in my heart. And bringing happiness to others is my aim. In 1 John 4:18 it says " perfect love casteth out fear" - its so true - just love everyone - love really does elimate any fear we may have. I know for me its difficult to approach someone on the train or bus and start a conversation because i have that fear - but i know as i show love and smile and try my best im slowly going to conquer that fear!!
I LOVE you all so much! I cant belive how lucky i am to stand in place of the saviour. I know that the more faith we have the more success we will have also. I know God loves me and he loves you all!! You are incredible. Stay amazing!!
Love your one and only Soeur Fagg!!! xxxxxxxxxx
