BONJOUR BONJOURRRRR!!!!!!
Ah can you get any more beautiful...I don't think so. You and all the family look amazing. I love you all too much it's unreal!! What an insane week you have had!! Seriously I love hearing you having great weeks. IT MAKES ME HAPPY!!
This time of year is my FAVOURITE, and being away from family makes it VERY DIFFERENT. in fact, extremely different. It's been amazing, but not the same, you all make it what it's meant to be!!
Ok ARE YOU READY FOR MY EPIC WEEK. HERE WE GOOOOO.....
Firstly I realized how rude I was and hadn't thanked whoever it was for giving me all those quotes...it had dads name written all over it. But thank you. I read one everyday and it always inspires me.. So I wanted to share my FAVOURITE from this week with you all:
" yes I had some dark days, but all my brooding and worrying wasn't going to change that...faith in the savior taught me that no matter what happened in the past. My story could have a happy ending!"
This just gives me so much hope. And gives everyone so much hope. Our stories all have happy endings. Change is a part of our journey here. And changing for the better is the best feeling in the world!!
I don't know if you've been able to watch the New Years Mormon message of "look not behind thee?" It's so great. It encourages us not to look back. But to move forward with faith. It speaks about the story of lost wife and how she looked back. And a guy in the video goes on to say "she didn't realize that maybe what was infront of her was better than what she was leaving behind..." Sometimes it may be hard. But taking a leap of faith, and knowing what God has in plan for you is better than what you had before is what we all need to believe. Once we know that there is better and best ahead, life becomes a happier journey!!
WE HAVE SOOOO many rdvs this week. Oh my days, it's insane. I have never eaten so much in my life!! We even had rdvs to go round members for BREAKFAST!!! Because we were already taken for lunch and dinner. Hahaha. The members are insane here!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!
Also little random thing..we were round the family coppels and they were showing us photos of their holiday to Tahiti last year...just so you know that's now my new dream destination. Haha...just so your aware! .. Anyway...
We visited la famille jacas this week! They are THE cutest family. And I felt such a spirit in their home. It actually felt like I was home. They have 3 girls and the 5 year old was doing clown performances for us. Etc. it was hilarious ...I have a picture to send of them. And also they have a 16 year old, Elodie and she does exchanges to learn languages and she's been looking to do one in England...haha...you know what's coming...she wants to know if next summer or in one of the other holidays she could come and stay for 2-3 weeks to learn English!
We had THE MOST EPIC lesson with our ami this week. Wow. It was incredible. We wanted to re teach her the word of wisdom because we weren't too sure if she completely understood it. Well before we could even start she said "I've stopped drinking coffee and alcohol." WHAT!! Just like that, she hasn't drank coffee or alcohol since we last taught her, and she said it's better, she has no problem with it. She also shared with us how someone had asked her about her Christmas and what she had been up to and she told them about us, and the church and the party we had, the activities etc and shared her beliefs and she said it made her feel great, and she has never had the confidence to do that before, I am SO PROUD of her!!
We invited her to be BAPTISED again, and she just bore testimony to us that she has been searching her whole life for something more, and she has finally found it. She said she has never felt so much joy in her life, ever. I invited her to pray as soon as we left about the date that we proposed to her.
An hour later she sent us a text message saying that she had prayed and that what she had felt had brought her to tears and she knew it's what she needs to do and what God wants her to do. So she is GETTING BAPTIZED. her date is fixed March. But we are sure she will be ready before then. Man...family I can't explain to you the joy I feel. She has completely changed her life around, and finally she has found what she has been looking for, for so long. The gospel is making her life happier. That's what it does to anyone who accepts, has faith and asks. Heavenly Father always responds to those who ask. I am SO EXCITED FOR HER!! It's been an absolute privilege to serve here and teach her and help her along this beautiful journey!!
We had district meeting this week!! It was all about setting goals for this year. THE YEAR 2016!!!! THIS IS THE YEAR!! Ahhhh!!!
So I made a lot of goals for this coming year. I want to tell you one, because then you can follow up on it...and keep me on track!! Haha!! This year I want to develop the Christlike attribute of charity! Every day, every week I'm going to be focusing on looking on ways that I can serve others, in the street, in rdvs, in the ward. I know I'm on a mission and I'm serving full time, but I can do more to develop this. So I want it to be a main goal for this year. To continue to serve always.
Follow up on me ok!!
We have been sharing a New Years little message with everyone, and we are sharing the scripture 3 nephi 12:48. Where Christ invites us to be Perfect even as he is. Then we have been drawing around our feet, to make a footstep and writing something we can do this year to take one more step closer to perfection; to becoming more like our savior Jesus Christ.. Perfection is the end goal. DONT BE TOO HARD on yourselves setting goals this year. Look AT ALL YOU have accomplished this year, look at all you have gone through and overcome!! Your all incredible and your all progressing!! "Don't forget we have to go past the grave to reach perfection" we are ON the journey to perfection! And it's the best journey ever! Isn't it!!? Make it a happy one. That's why we are here to find happiness. And we all know how to find happiness don't we!! AHH WE ARE TOO LUCKY!
I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE CHICKEN FONDUE MEAL WE HAD!!!! Because it was the greatest thing I have ever had in my life. And you would all LOVE IT. it's like your own homemade kfc!! So you get a pan, and a heater underneath, mind you have raw chicken, and then like bread crumbs and you dip the meat in egg and then the bread crumbs and out it in the oil and VOILA!! It's KFC. ok I understand that none of that probably made sense. BUT DONT MAKE ME FORGET. WE WILL DO THIS WHEN I GET HOME. it's so simple, yet so beautiful. Hahaha and then you have a plate infront of you with whatever sauces you want...ok I'm going on a bit now...but you can tell it was delicious...
Hey, have all of you seen the new youth video for this year? So at first I was like...this is cheesy, but then watch the whole thing, and it is so good. The end made me and my companion cry...I don't know if it's because we are missionaries and we cry a lot haha but it really touched us. Just the image of all the young bringing others Tigard the tree of life. Man it's such a beautiful image!! This is our duty, we are on the straight and narrow path, we know what we have to do to keep on it, we need to bring as many others with us! :) that just makes me smile so big..
RIGHT HERE COMES THE MOMENT...TRANSFER CALLS.....
what you've been waiting for...I don't know why it always leave it to the end of the email...hahaha to teach you patience I think..haha!! Anyway..
I AM ....
LEAVING ANNEMASSE!!!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!! IM GOING TO GENEVA!!! YAYYYYY!!! SERIIUSLY mixed emotions about this!! Haha. Because I am absolutely in love with annemasse and its members! But I have a,ways wanted to serve in Geneva, it's going to be VERY different, I am so excited though!!
I feel so lucky to have served two transfers here in annemasse though, I think you've got the feeling already from my emails that I really love this place, because of the people I have become friends with. I am thankful to have served this last transfer with sister stapley too...pretty sure we just had the best, happiest transfer ever!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH! It's crazy how you can gain a friend for life, after six weeks!! Haha. MISSIONS ARE THE GREATEST!!!
My PONDERIZE scripture for you this week is 2 nephi 27:23 and it says: for behold I am God, and I am a God of miracles and I will show until the world I am the same, today, yesterday and forever and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith......(I just did that by heart) proud moment. Haha. I love it. Because we see in the bible that they had miracles, we read in the book of Mormons that they had miracles. And we see today we have miracles, I have lived miacles and seen miracles in my mission SO I KNOW that God, is a God of miracles. I love him so much. Miracles exist today!!
Family, again I tell you that I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. HAPLY NEW YEAR!! I have loved receiving all the photos of you all this week. What a year it's been. I said that last week, but seriously what a year!
