Can i just say that i love you all so much. I tell you in every email but its because i really TRULY want you to know that i do. sooo much!!
Your week sounds so exciting!! Thorpe Park. JEALOUS...actually thorpe park..mission...thorpe park...mission I THINK I WIN!! haha! Sounds so fun though!! Ahhhh the famous family easter weekend!! i HAVE to see that video of hungry hippos!!! haha!!
Ok onto my week...WOW what a week!!!
FIRST. Can you believe we are in APRIL?? insane!
So last Monday i went on my first exchange with the sister training leaders, which was SOOO fun!! It was great seeing how different missionaries approach things differently. One thing the sister i was with, said BONJOUR to every single person she walked past or even across the other side of the road. It was so fun. Seeing how a simple Bonjour can bring a smile to someone's face. So i have taken that on as a goal of mine to MAKE sure i say bonjour to everybody. I asked the sister why she did it and she said `because we don't know what kind of day they are having, or what they are going to be facing in that day, but now they can say they smiled today.` I LOVED THAT.
During one of my studies this week i was reading and studying in preach my gospel and something brought me a lot of comfort i read: ` without the spirit you will NEVER suceed, regardless of your talent and ability!` - we dont need to be the greatest teacher or the greatest scriptorian, we just need to make sure we are worthy of teaching with the spirit. Then we will never fail. This also made me think of Ed, the message you put in my brown notebook. You said that even though there will be hard times, to be optimistic and keep the mission rules because if i do that then i will receive the promise which is to teach with the spirit, and then i can never fail!!!
I was reading a talk this week in one of my studies i cant remember who by, sorry! But it was talking about how we do not say i love you enough! And how important those words are. Sister Roney (Mission Presidents wife) says those three words mean more than just those three words. When she said them to her sons they would mean, keep safe or please dont do anything stupid, or remember how important you are etc. Those three words mean a whole lot more. SO I LOVE YOU !!!!!
Ok a little funny sparking moment. We sparked a lady on the bus home the other day! It was so funny. It was just me and sister Francis and an older lady on the bus. And we starting singing to her!! SHE HAD THE BIGGEST SMILE ON HER FACE!! It was so cute!! And the song wasnt the greatest, haha it was our mission song ` angels we have heard on high` but in French, and i didnt know all the words so for most i was ooing the tune and then i think we were trying to harmonise but kind of failing at it!! haha you can imagine. So im kind of shock she was even smiling. But we felt great after, because we KNEW we had made her day!!
OK OK OK TOP SECRET!!! i am so embarrassed to even tell you this story! But i KNOW that i have too because you`ll find it so funny!! I havent even told sister Francis this story soooo feel privileged that i love you enough to tell you this!! haha ok here i go....so le famille (T....) you know the Indian family where we had a curry! I ate it all family...feel proud please! haha!! ANYWAY!! So i went to the bathroom afterwards and on the side was one of the daughter`s bindi things (you know the stick on things you put on your forehead BUT the real deal!!) HAHA ok so i tried it on..hahaha and it fell off AND FELL DOWN THE SINK!!!!! hahahaha!!! i was so embarassed but its ok she had a ton of others but yeah.....hahaha!!
So when me and sister francis work out inside - we play the mission CDs and one song on there i ABSOLUTELY love and i want you to go and listen to it!! Its called `i will rise` - and the chorus goes : `i will rise when he calls my name, no more sorrow, no more pain, i will rise on eagles wings, before my god, fall on my knees, and rise!!` I LOVE IT. Because it made me imagine when the saviour comes again and he calls my name and i will rise, happy, feeling worthy to look him in the eye!!! Ahhhhhh its so exciting!!!! Anyway! Go listen, its my favourite!! Also another invite for you go read, D&C 135:3. And then read praise to the man in the hymn book!! It is the strongest testimonies of Jospeh Smith i have ever read. I read them in personal study and then wrote down my testimony of him.- i cannot express enough to you how grateful i am for joseph smith. I cannot wait to thank him in person!!!!
Ok ANOTHER PROUD moment. You are going to be so proud. We went to one of the members home for dinner. and she got the pan down and it looked like chicken. Mmmmm...BUT NO. IT WAS SHRIMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ATE THE WHOLE THING...... PROUD!! Even if i was chugging glass after glass of water down with it!! HA! I DID IT. to be honest it wasnt too bad actually until i starting thinking about what i was eating then the gag reflexes jumped in!! PAHAHA!!
So on Friday we hit the Easter weekend! Our Zone had a huge goal of finding 140 people to invite to conference!! SO we had to keep the whole day free for contacting everyone. We went to a place called `Ouchy` and we contacted so many people with our easter questionaire. Some of the questions were `what do you think of first when we say the word EAster?`...`Do you know why we celebrate Easter?` etc.. it was really nice listening to peoples answers. Some were eggs and family but the majority thought of Christ. We met one lady from America and she told us how her preacher gave her easter talk last week and did not mention Christ once. We were so shocked. How can somebody talk about Easter and not speak about Jesus Christ!!??. Crazy!! I love Easter so much. The saviour and all that he did this weekend really did change the course of every single persons life.
Today for P-Day we actually went to Ouchy and played some volleyball. The sky was so clear and the mountains were absolutely stunning. Ouchy is a place where when we come back after my mission we should go! You would love it so much! Google it!! I took some pictures so ill try and send some but it still does not do it justice!! haha!!
GEneral Conference!!!! What an amaaazing conference that was right??
So i can go on forever with my favourites but i will share two!!
I absolutely loved Jeffery.R.Hollands talk. About the two boys climbing the cliff and one brother saves the other by grabbing hold of him and not letting go. I loved his analogy. How the saviour is standing, just waiting for us if we fall or take a jump, or a leap of faith and he is there ALWAYS to grab hold of us with two hands, and he is not letting go, he is going to lift us up every time. They are two hands we can always rely on!!
I also LOVED Wilford.W.Andersens talk and his analogy with the dancing!! It was so Great!! `i can teach you how to dance, but you have to hear the music!` Its true. People on the outside looking in, who see us dancing, and can not hear the music themselves - we look strange, peculiar and funny. But as soon as they hear the music themselves they are soon dancing with us!! I loved the music the gospel brings into my life!!!!!
`Really live what you claim to believe!` & Never ever give up!! Have you all seen the new easter video?? Because he Lives??!! I am in love with that video!! The beginning when it says like wherever he taught everything changed. And its true whenever Christ is welcomed in and we accept him into our lives everything really does change.
I have an exchange tomorrow. Which i am sooo nervous for. because i am staying here is Lausanne and sister Francis is going to Geneva and the sister i am getting for tomorrow, doesnt speak english and yeah! I need to know how to get everywhere and lead the lessons etc!! SO should be interesting!! haha!! SMILE and everything will be ok sister fagg!! haha!!
So this week has been so exciting!! The work is so great. Time is going extremely quickly. The language is tough. But i am growing each and every day. Heavenly father is blessing me and taking me to new heights. But with him anything is possible so i have no need to fear i know. I love being a missionary. I truly know that Jesus Christ is the son of God and i Truly know i was set apart to represent him. I know that if i trust in my heavenly fathers will i and we all can do anything. I know that Heavenly Father loves you all so much. I cant believe how blessed i am to have all of you as part of this beautiful journey!! And the beautiful journey to come!! You are all incredible. I need you to know that I know the church is true. I know we have an older brother who loves us so much that he gave his own life for us. And we have a heavenly father who loves us so much that he gave his own son to suffer and be our redeemer so he could welcome us home!!
I LOVE YOU.
Have an incredible week!!!!!
LOve your one and ONLY....
