MERRY CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSS AHHHHH!!!!! My beautiful FAMILY!!!!!
Wow. Here we go. The week of Christmas has finally arrived and oh my days I AM TOO EXCITED!!! I can't believe it. We are at Christmas. This is INSANE.
YOUR PACKAGE CAME THIS WEEK AND many other packages too. I am extremely spoilt. It's so kind of everyone. Thank you SO much!!
What a week you have had!! It's sounds like so much fun!!
Ah man I'm going to miss watching it's a wonderful life with dad this year. That's a shame... Haha. No all serious I love that film!! Enjoy it!!
That's so great you are going carol singing with the sisters. You sound like you've had all the
missionaries over and for Christmas Day you have missionaries too. You don't understand how much that means to them! Your my heroes!
SO WHO IS READY TO HEAR ABOUT MY INCREDIBLE, CHRISTMASSY WEEK!!?? KNEW IT. HERE WE GOOOOO....
so first off, before I forget!!!! So do you remember when I was serving in RENENS. I spoke about a man named Sebastian. Who I had contacted in the bus months before. And he finally found the church and started taking the lessons. Well I found of that he got BAPTISED on SATURDAY!!! What a Christmas gift. It was so lovely to hear how much he has changed since the beginning and how excited he was for his baptism and everything. How cool is that!! You just never know what can come from speaking to someone...on a bus!!! Who would of known!? God knew!! Ahh I love it so much!
So my week....for p day on Monday we went to this old, medieval village. Ah you all would of fell in love especially with all the Christmas lights around. I kind of felt like I was in a Disney village!! It was heaven. I will send photos! It was dark so you can't see very well. But we will have to go back there!!
That night we went CHRISTMAS CAROLLING with the amico family. It was soooo much fun and I just felt the CHRISTMAS SPIRIT. we dropped cookies off and sang to their neighbors. But...I know you'll laugh. Because for some reason I couldn't stop laughing. Haha. I was placed right next to all their boys and the elders singing and I just got the giggles. I cried the whole way and then the mum would laugh at me.etc you know the story! Haha I'm so bad!
WE WERE SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER THIS WEEK!! Haha it was too much fun! For example...we were RUNNING...no we were SPRINTING for our bus. Because if we missed it there was not another one for an hour!!! And we saw it coming down the road and just missed it, we made puppy dog eyes at the driver and he stopped in the middle of the road for us! Hahaha!! It was a miracle!! And then we gave him a candy cane and he was just so sparked!!! ....I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
Ok the cutest moment of this week. Was when our ami, who is someone who works everyday, long hours to support her son. As they are alone here, gave us a Christmas present. And said "thank you for helping me find faith." I nearly cried. Wow. It was a special moment! What an example of giving when you don't have a lot!
We went to eat round the theodoloz family. And they brought friends!!! It was so great! The lady friend just adored what we do as missionaries and was surprised at how young we are, and why we would want to do that. I LOVE explaining to people why we are here, they just go silent. Love it. And during the meal she turned to us and said..." So..what do you teach??" So we just sat there teaching her with our incredible members!! What a moment!!! The members were just ready there, testifying alongside us!
Wednesday I had an exchange with THE ONE AND ONLY SISTER GRECIANO! I love her so much. It was so great to see her!! On the exchange they had a potential ami they wanted to pass. We were searching a while for the address. And we finally found it. And we knocked . A lady came out. But it wasn't her. We thought "we did not come all the way out here to walk away..." So we started asking her questions. And she wasn't too interested as she immediately saw our badges. BUT we were not giving up. Haha. We knew we were sent there FOR HER. So we continued asking her questions and slowly. She walked down the steps outside her house. Haha. And we had a lovely conversation with her about what we believe and what she believes. Imagine if we just gave up and walked away! I've learnt on a mission. God plan is always right, sometimes not always the easiest, but I've learnt giving up is never an option!!
Thursday we had district meeting in the Lausanne zone with our sisters. The message was a lot about happiness actually. And how lucky we are to have so many things in our lives that bring us happiness. We watched David a Bednar talk he gave at the devotional! And he speaks on how Christ is the light. He is the light in this world of darkness. Light always o empowers darkness. That's his role. To overcome to dark things of the world and to bring light and hope to those who seek him. We need to shine his light through our actions.
Then I had ANOTHER exchange (it's been a great week) with sister descoubes!! We had a lovely exchange. And that is how I found out about Sebastian getting BAPTISED. And also that Francois. Who got baptised when I was there, has been to the temple and he says "it is heaven on earth" ah gives me goosebumps!!! What miracles.
OK BEST NIGHT of my mission so far! We went CAROLLING with the 'gaud ' family. We sang for her friends. She took us to around 8 friends to sing too! And give cookies etc. we went to one, and she had three children. Who sat watching us sing just with huge smiles on their faces. When we finished they asked if we could sing another one. And they were just sitting their silent, looking up at us! Haha!! The mother actually said that she would like us to go back and visit her! MIRACLE.
They have a little 5 year old in the gaud family and we sang a song. And at the end he had a line to sing on his own, CUTEST THING EVER. Anyway I'm going on a bit. But it was the best night ever. So much happiness. So much love. And Christmas spirit and fun! Ah it was awesome.
On Saturday we had our joint ward Christmas party. WOW. Just wow. It was like a talent show too! And it was so cute and really well done. The youth of the annemasse ward had created a video, and had people crying. I'll have to try get hold of it and send it over. It was a wonderful evening. And we, as missionaries FEEL SOOOOO LOVED by the membres here. They called us up to the front and gave us gifts. And this coming week we have a family and even two families like everyday. So you have no need to worry. We are being looked after here!!!
Soooo in sacrament meeting. The missionaries did a musical item of "with wondering awe." But just before the usher tapped me on the shoulder and said "someone is asking for the missionaries." ... We thought it was an ami or something. But it was time for us to sing ...so we sang...they I walked out and it wasn't an ami. It was VANESSA!!!!! Ahhhh!! Haha what a moment, it was so lovely to see her. And like you mum, it made me so excited to see you all on Friday!!! ahhhhhhhh!!! I thought it would be weird. But you know what it wasn't, it was just a moment of happiness! And some of things she told me, and said to me...I really needed to hear. So it was perfect!!
Studies:
"Without Christ, there would be no Christmas. Without Christ, there can be no fulness of joy. Without His birth and His Atonement, we would have no Intercessor, no Advocate with the Father, and no Mediator who makes it possible for us to return to the presence of our loving Heavenly Father and live together as eternal families"
This is why Christ came. This is why we celebrate Christmas and this is why I am in a mission! Without him we could not reach our goal. I love him.
- "This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again.”
Serve others this Christmas and you will find it will be the most rewarding Christmas you have ever had.
So this coming week....
Tomorrow is the beginning of the huge whole mission, Christmas conference. We leave on a big coach from Geneva to get to Lyon, tomorrow morning at 9. And then it's a surprise what we are doing!! I GET TO SKYPE YOU!!! And then everyday meals and Christmas CAROLLING with members etc!! It's so great!!
I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN HOW EXCITED I AM TO SPEAK WITH YOU ALL...no tears now....hahaha!! Ah I love you all SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I WILL SKYPE YOU AT 7!! that's the time my companion is doing it too. So it's perfect!!! CANNOT WAIT.
