BONJOUR MA FAMILLE!!!
OH MY GOODNESS WHAT A CHRISTMAS!! Got to admit it was VERY different
without you all there. But it was INCREDIBLE at the same time!!
I know I told you a lot over skype but I'm putting it all in an email
anyway...hope that's alright...haha
What was m FAVOURITE part of Christmas this week? I think, the
food....HAHAHA KIDDING. TOTALLY SEEING AND SPEAKING TO YOU ALL OVER
SKYPE. That was absolutely incredible, man I love you all so much, you
don't even realize! It was the greatest gift for me this year BY A
MILE!!! I was just completely overwhelmed with happiness seeing you
all. I really do love you. And sorry I cried at the end. I didn't want
to. But know it was happy tears...kind of! Hahaha!! It was just
because I love and miss you! Just having you all there infront of me.
Was incredible.
But do you remember on skype you asked "how are you doing with the
food etc" and I was like big headed and said "yah, I can eat anything
now..." WELL I JYNXED MYSELF I THINK!! The meal that was waiting for
me. My golly. Haha. They had bread...and then a strong fish spread! It
was....I have no words. Haha. Anyway! Yesterday we had a meal with an
older couple in the ward, so very traditional French family. And guess
what they brought out to the table....SNAILS!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh!! I
thought I had got lucky and passed it!! BUT NO!! Haha. So I can now
say to you in fact I have eaten snails. And it was....interesting.
Haha. I was fine at the beginning because in my head I was like "it's
chicken, it's chicken, it's chicken.,." And that helped. Haha. And
then something crunchy came, and the texture is very weird. It's
covered in sauce so it makes them taste better. But then my mind got
the better of me and I realized what I was eating....hahaha but what a
memory hey?!! Haha.
Anyway...
HERE WE GOOOOOO....
Monday we had the most wonderful fhe with a family. The family gaud.
And she is incredible. To this meal, fhe, she had invited one of our
Amis, a less active member and a mum school friend!!! How amazing!! It
went super well! And it was such a lovely environment!! Lovd it. Such
an epic start to an epic week!!
I think I just had the best week ever though...seriously.
Haha...anyway I'll continue..
Tuesday morning we left on the big coaches at 9am from Geneva chapel
to head to Lyon. We had no idea what we were doing this day! It was so
much fun, even on the bus, you can imagine we were singing Christmas
songs and getting people up to give speeches etc haha. So MUCH FUN!!
We arrived in Lyon. And they took us just outside a museum, called
"confluence" and it was so hot and sunny. We were so blessed with the
weather. I mean it's winter and we were in t shirts etc!! Blessed.
Anyway. So we played sports and had lunch together and chilled as a
whole mission for a couple of hours which was the best.
I got to catch up with sister Kearney and sister McClellan. And elder
spoors!!! It was THE best!!
Something president said during his presentation I love, was he said
"I am so impressed with how much love and unity there is here between
you all.." And seriously it's so true. I don't know about other
missions. I hope they are the same, but we are soooo unified and
everyone loves everyone! It's perfect! It's like we are one big
family!
So after we went to an aquarium. Just across the bridge, and president
had hired out the aquarium. They have a huge conference room. Like a
big cinema room. So we were in there. We got to go round the aquarium
too which was cool. Haha little fishies. And thy they surprised
us...we watched LION KING!! On the big screen. It was the greatest.
And then we played minute to win it Christmas games and sang and just
had the best of times!!! Being altogether was my FAVOURITE!! So voila,
it was the best conference ever, made a great Christmas!!! So
grateful!
Christmas Eve. So this is Christmas Day for the French. They open
their presents on the 24th and have the turkey dinner...etc!! So we
had a big meal. And they asked us to do a nativity! Hahaha. I was
Mary. It was so funny!! The father took some photos too so I will try
and get hold of them some how.. But you can just imagine us four
missionaries doing a nativity, sister stapley was Joseph and elder
whiting read the story and then elder Bentley was every other thing.
Hahaha. It was just hilarious. Your nativity looks hilarious. Haha. I
can only imagine how funny that was!!
Just to warn you I HAVE SO MANY PHOTOS TO SEND YOU! So prepare
yourselves!! Haha.
I know you said "your not fat" guys I've had 5 turkey dinners in a
row. Hahahahaha!! It's insane. I can't do it anymore!! Haha! I feel
heavier. Hahah!!
I think one of my FAVOURITE parts of my Christmas this year though was
before we opened our packages, me and my companions shared with each
other something we learnt about Christ this year! I just want to say
again, how much I love my savior and how much I am grateful for the
incredible amount that he has done for me. I cannot repay him! But I
can love him, and that contributes! I love him a lot. And I'm grateful
for his love that I feel everyday of my life!!
On Saturday we went CAROLLING with a older couple for all their
neighbors. You know what, it was miracle little CAROLLING session. We
had people start crying because they were so touched, I don't think it
was because we sounded good, haha, but because we were doing it for
them. We had people speak to us about why we are doing it, and it went
into gospel discussions too. It was just great!
STUDY:
1john 2:15-17 - the world is full of pride, and lust and selfishness.
But there is always good in this world. We look, we will find it. We
can shut out the bad things of the world. And it's by choice, that's
why we have been given choice. To choose from right and wrong! The
things of the world bring only temporary happiness...and it's not even
happiness. It's blinding happiness, because it brings pain, hurt and
wounds are made from desiring the "happiness" of the world. ..
Following the will of God, accepting our savior so atobement in
healing those wounds. There you will find eternal happiness. Happiness
that last forever.
READ vs 28- which would oh rather feel. I asked myself this question
as I read this verse. I DEFINATELY want to be filled with confidence
at the savior a coming.
...
"Each time you look in the mirror, see your body as your temple. That
truth--refreshed gratefully each day--can positively influence your
decisions about how you will care for your body and how you will use
it. And those decisions will determine your destiny. How could this
be? Because your body is the temple for your spirit. And how you use
your body affects your spirit."
Your beautiful. Our bodies are beautiful gifts. The decisions we make
concerning our spirit and body will have an effect on our eternal
destiny. It's so important to take care of it in as many ways as we
possibly can..."
I just really loved this quote and wanted to share it with you. Maybe
someone needs to hear this! :)
Mum I can't believe it's 200 and something days left...haha you cracks
me up on skype!!! Haha!! Seriously though. That's insane. Enjoy ing
every moment.
And that holiday when I get back. Sounds epic!!

a pretty perfect transfer so if I leave it's ok, I'm happy. We will
