HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!!
sooo i have quite alot to say and so little time so im using my speedy finger typing skills right now..
so you'll all be proud me and my companion have joined the MTC Choir and at the tuesday devotional we sang 'i need thee every hour' AND OH MY DAYS IT WAS SO AMAZING. The spirit was incredible. So we have vowed to do the choir every week!!!
We had Larry wilson (a seventy) come and speak Tuesday night and he spoke about the value of repitition in your teaching - he said it takes 17 times for someone to remember a message - so we shouldnt just teach a doctrine and move on but keep keep coming back to it! that kinda stood out to me because i have never thought of how important it really was.
also a few little funky quotes for you guys:
"its not about you and your abilities, but his."
"if you want to be happy, forget yourself and get lost in this great work, God takes care of you as you take care of other's"
HAPPY VALENTINES (ITS LATE I KNOW) BUT I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH. YOU ARE ALL MY VALENTINES FOR THE NEXT TWO VALENTINES DAY -- FEEL HONOURED OK.
oh funny moment i received a letter saying i had a package so i went to collect it and it was a big bag of nacho's HAHAHA and there was a note saying 'love from your mother and sister wilson' or something HAHAHA so i dont think it was for me OH and it said on the note "i love you like a bag of nacho's" PAHAHAHA i just laughed ...i dont think it was from you muhumma right??? HAHA but i enjoyed those nacho's anyway!!
Ok so i NEED to share this anaolgy my teacher taught us. Its amazing.
So picture a mountain, and if you want to climb a mountain the best way to reach where you need to be is to have a tour guide with you right? Someone who has trekked the path already before you. So life is the mountain and Christ is our guide.Like a mountain path that has to be somebody who created the path in the first place. There has to be somebody that breaks through thistle bushes and crosses rivers to find the safest way and make the pathway clear.
Christ created our path. Its not going to be easy to climb the mountain (life) but is IT ALWAYS going to be easier that the one who created it. Also at the top of the mounatin is 'eternal life' - it would be a pretty miserable path to take if you had no idea what was coming at the end or what you were aiming for. But we have that knowledge BECAUSE of christ - our guide. He has placed trail markers along our path to help us reach the top ( markers like; baptism, the temple, repentance etc). He has made as easy as he possibly could for us to reach the top.
Our path will never be easy, because it is uphill - but it will ALWAYS be easier than Christ's.
I loved that i hope you all loved it too - dad dont go stealing this genuis piece of art for any of your talks now ;) hahaha!!
So sunday i didn't have to give a talk, as there were missionaries in my Zone who were leaving for Tahiti the following day so they spoke. They also sang in Tahitian for us - IT WAS SWEEEET!!
Temple walk on sunday was so stunning, beautiful sunny day, the provo temple, and the utah mountains = PERFECTION.
OK now to something serious.... i found a grey hair!! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
A little more about my companion - she is smaller than me - wooo - haha - she is from Washington - and she has a big family too - she is so funny and SUPER spiritual - i think we work really well together.
also on Sunday we got to see the new meet the mormons film - IT IS AMAZING! I LOVED IT SOO MUCH - i may of cried when they were showing a missionary leave his family to serve - reminded me of you beautiful beings.
On Sunday we also had another devotional - i also feel the spirit so strongly in the devotionals and get some amazing quotes - lauren you would love these quotes:
" i love you" the most important words in our language - why wait until your final day to say i love you - say i love you today'
" it's not who you aren't BUT who you are."
"its often the small moments, which bring the greatest memories" (SO TRUE)
"when everything says you cant - believe in the part of you that says you can"
So this week our investigator turned into our TEACHER!! SHOCKER!! it was great though because he gave us feedback on our teaching etc so that was pretty cool.
Im still struggling with the language, but its only been a week and a half, im working as hard as i can.. ITS ALOT more difficult than what i thought it would be!! but hey, we'll get there,
I HAVE LEARNT SO MUCH ALREADY. and i cannot wait to learn even more!!
I love you,
Hope you have an incredible week!!!!!!!!!!!
