BONJOUR MA FAMILLE. and friends!!
ok I know I say this every single week. But ERM...wasn't that the quickest week of your life or what? Haha. They just keep speeding up. I can't believe we are now in the last week of this transfer. We receive our calls this friday!! Aaaaahhhhh!!
I'm pretty sure I'm staying here...I REALLY HOPE SO!! But I said that about RENENS. And you just never know. So it will be exciting to find out. I absolutely love love LOOOOVE it here in annemasse. It's like I'm home!! So me and sister Andersen really want to stay another together for Christmas especially. AHHH CHRISTMAS. So many exciting things coming up!!!
Your week sounded awesome again and this week coming up. Jealous your all doing baptism this weekend!!!!
Soooo anyway...the most important question.... WHOS READY FOR ANOTHER EPIC WEEK?? KNEW IT. HERE WE GOOOOO.... (Do any of you read the "here we goooo" in the Peter Pan voice?? Because I do every time!!)
So last p day we went with a member up to the mountains. They just called us in the morning and it was a beautiful day so they invited us. It was incredibly beautiful!!
I have a few photos to send of that. So enjoy! We will DEFINATELY have to go back. Dad I think it's really your heaven! Mum..the woman we went with reminded me of how you would be...scared every time we turned a sharp corner and looked how high we were. Hahaha. But it'll be an adventure. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!!
LITTLE FUNNY STORY- I got to tell you all my little funny moments don't I! Haha thinking of it...the embarrassing moments have vanished for a while...I'm quite proud of myself!! Haha well here we go.,,we were on our morning run. And there was a guard dog by the door of one of the houses. And as I was running past (don't ask me why) but I made a cat sound. HAHAHA "meowwww" and it got angry and chased us. And It was just really really funny... And scary. But maybe that's another "had to be there" for it to be funny! Haha!
So we met with one of our Amis guy this week! And it was a very spiritual moment! We taught the restoration and Joseph smiths story. Every time I teach about Joseph smith I smile. He is just such a hero. And he relates always to our Amis. He proves that God lives, that he loves and listens to us. And he will answer us. And that is what our Amis want. An answer. And they know they will get one. I was studying in preach my gospel this week as well about studying and just how one mans study changes millions of lives. Joseph's study in James has changed my life. And now I'm really focusing on have effective studies because you never know. It could change a life!
District meeting- yay! Haha. I love these. It was great too because we presented a little during the meeting, we taught about working well with less active members. And I kind of used an analogy with our district. How less actives have moved into a comfortable area for them, it's a big step for them to come back. But when they do come back, we have to remember that things may be foreign to them again. The language, the teachings, the people. It's all different from what they have "got used "too. It's kind of like learning a language. Imagine us serving the French mission. Going home and never speak one word of the language. Then 10 years, 20 years later you come back and try speaking French. Yeah you may remember a few words. But not many, it would be a bit of struggle but after a while you would get the hang of it again. It's the same. Less actives come back, but it's hard, it's uncomfortable,e for some and a little foreign again. But if we help them, lift them up, welcome them they will soon feel comfortable and then will remember all that they learnt before!
Our district leader spoke about the importance of opening our mouths. And not being fearful. Rather being fearless. We are here for a reason. We need to remember we promised people we would find them. We need to keep that promise. We keep that promise from opening our mouths! I loved this.
We played a little game as a district after. IT WAS SO FUN! So...don't forget (you will have to remind me) I HAVE A NEW GAME TO TEACH YOU! Yay! Haha. Your going to love it!!
I really don't know how you can love people so much and you've only known them for five weeks!! It's incredible. I have this incredible love for the people here. I have made relationships that I will keep forever! I'm living experiences I will never forget. It's impossible to forget what I am living here. I just feel so very lucky to be where I am, with who I am with, doing what I am doing!!
Exchange- so I had an exchange this week with sister brouillet!! She is serving in Lausanne. But she is brilliant!! (I'll send a picture).... She is only in her first transfer. It's weird because I remember my first transfer...and it feels like yesterday!! Haha. We are viewing missionaries into the mission every transfer, and it's scary because every transfer there are more and more missionaries younger than you in the mission, you start to become older and older in the mission....I don't like it! Haha
We had a really cool rdv together too. We saw a potential ami for the first time. And we were teaching the restoration and we said "I know this is true!" And she turned to us and said " but how.. Bear you testimony then.." Haha ok then! So we bore our testimonies and she was really touched and said she would too like to know if this message is true! She told us she prays but she has never asked God directly. So she engaged to asking directly!!! :)
On Saturday we had a finding day. It was in Lausanne! But it was a little different. If was a stake finding day!! SO all the ysa in the Lausanne were invited and we went on splits, so each missionary went in a split with a ysa. And oh my goodness. Epic idea. It was so great. I was with a 19 year old, from Ecuador! She has been here for a few years now and not sure about a mission, we had such a great time together!! We were placed in the RENENS sector, because I knew it. And they had fixed us a rdv with a less active to see. And I knew him from last transfer. It was so funny, we turn up and he comes out and sees me and just like runs and goes to give me a hug (forgetting) it's ok though, I'm a pro now . I dodged if and stuck my hand out! Haha. But it was so love,y because he was so happy to see me!!
Anyway the ysa I was with, Jennifer. She was awesome. And I RECEIVED an email from her today, saying she wants to keep in contact with me, she loved it so much etc!! So that was lovely!
So we slept over at the Geneva sisters in Friday to get to the finding day. Which was lucky because of everything that happened Friday night in paris!! Friday night we RECEIVED a text from president saying we were to stay inside until further news. (It was a little scary, even though we are far from Paris) but eventually we got the heads up and we able to work normally! How awful to hear what happened. We don't hear a lot here in the mission, but I heard a few things and it sounds terrible. We can just pray for the families of those involved!!
STAKE CONFERENCE - we had stake conference on Saturday and Sunday! It was in the crown plaza hotel in Geneva!!
Elder homer spoke on both days........So on Sunday at stake conference. Elder homer is speaking and he says "ok now we are going to hear two testimonies...one of them knows and the other one doesn't. So first we will hear from president coppel and then I will ask sister FAGG if she would come and bear her testimony of why she is on a mission..." (Hahaha. My heart went...you all know I was feeling in that moment. Haha.)
The conference was great. Elder homer spoke incredibly and things I like were : " we are all the same, we all make mistakes. But we are all different people. There is no perfect here. There is no "restricted entrance, perfect people on,y sign" on the doors of our churches. We all belong.
He spoke about Christ a lot. And how he came to heal broken hearts. He came to heal everything we brake. We will fall, we will make mistakes. But he will heal us. There is nothing we can do, it is not possible to fall too far from being healed by his love and his mercy!!
"Beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right then when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it then it is right now too." - this was in a talk I read about holding fasting to the spiritual prompting some and experiences we have had in our life.
The talk is called "cast not away therefore your confidence" by holland. In 1999. At a byu conference. See if you can find it. And read it. It's incredible.
"We must not think satan is defeated with that first string breakthrough with so dramatically brought the light and moved us forward. ..don't let your guard down...don't forget how you once felt. Don't district the experience you had.." - we have all had spiritual experiences. We need to hold fast and remember the experiences we have had, because they will keep us strong!!
Ponderizing scripture : 3rd nephi. 5:13.
Well you never ever ever fail to make me happier every week. You never ever ever fail to make me smile larger every week. And you never ever ever fail to make me love you even more every week.
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCHHHH!!!!
Love your ONE AND ONLY...
