oh man you guys!! all of your emails always make me so happy and feel so great!! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!
AND i love the pictures you all sent! erm but please...i have told you before STOP getting beautifuller!! haha you gorgeous family you!!
You sound like you have all had great weeks again!! It was so weird! Sister Francis skyped in to the family i was having dinner with ......yes!! It was so good to see her face again! (see picture below)
Anywaaay.....ok so this week! there is so much to tell you..ok here we go...
so first things first something you all have to know... i can make really yummy crepes (mum is laughing because they are the easiest things in the world to make...but i dont care ok) i am officially a pro crepe maker!!
Ok lets start with a miracle!!!!!..
We were contacting in Ouchy..and we met (*m)- really interested - really great conversation...we asked him `if there another day we could teach you more about our church?` and he said..`right now? i want to hear it all now` OK THEN!!!! It was so great!! and we have seen him a few times this week!! MIRACLE!!
ohh and a funny story....on the same day in Ouchy we contacted this lady and she was really rude and starting to speak to us and then as soon as she saw the badge she completely changed and walked off. WELL we were heading home on the metro and i just sit down and guess whos sitting opposite me!!! YEP YOU KNOW IT!! hahaha it was so funny! THERE WAS NO ESCAPE FOR HER NOW!! we actually had a really great conversation about the importance of families...heavenly father just knew she needed our message!! mwahaha!!
So this week i have been studying about Courage...to try and be more courageous everyday!! I read a talk by President Monson and i LOVE this quote: `may we ever be courageous and prepared to stand for what we believe, and if it means we must stand alone in the process, may we do so courageously, strengthened by the knowledge that in reality, we are NEVER alone when we stand with our father in heaven.` dont you just love that!! seriously!! I know it is true! and what courageous it brings when we just realise that we are never ever alone. He is always standing right there with us. I know he is standing with me when i pluck up the courageous to speak to someone. I know he is right there when we are teaching. I know that he is standing with each one of us during our hardest moments. I just want you to know you are never alone. He is standing right there with you through everything!!
So its been a week already with my new companion!! TIME IS GOING!!!! BUT GUESS WHAT!! we found out today that another sister is coming into the mission and is going to replace sister wilsher in the Renens ward. And sister wilsher is COMING TO SERVE IN LAUSANNE WITH US. AS A TRIO!! AHHHH!! we are sooooo excited!! i love her soooo much! i cannot wait to work with her, strengthen eachother and just help one another!! AHHH!! It starts next week i think!! But how cool is that?? from the same stake! its weird enough being int he same mission BUT the same companionship!! our dreams have come true!! haha!! dont worry we will still get work done!! haha!!
Anyway..so sister Camus is incredible! she is insane at contacting! and that is something i need to improve on! so its so perfect!! She is always so happy! we went to stake conference and everyone was saying how hapy our companionship is, how we are always smiling!! So its great!! she is on her transfer before her last!! so she is very experienced and just so amazing!!
Another funny story...well it was for me anyway (just fake laugh if its not funny ok) ... so we contacted this man and he turns out to be a pastor for an evangelist church and he as the converstaion goes along he asks us to close our eyes...and picture us in a field....(go on all of you close your eyes) and just picture yourself...what age are you??.....now picture jesus Christ there with you....what is he doing??......Right there you go you have seen Christ!!! HAHAHA it was soooo random!!! and we opened our eyes and people around us were like `whaaaat are they doing!!` it was so funny!! we didnt know what to say afterwards...like oooook!!
On Thursday we have our `blue`s` conference - so for all the missionaries i came in with from the MTC! its a conference to cover what we have been being taught by our trainers etc. It was pretty much a conference to boost us up and say ok your half way through training lets gooo!!. And president Roney was there and taught the miracle of the loaves and fishes. and how the person christ performed this miracle through was `a lad` - who brought the loaves and the fishes` - and how if christ can perform such a huge miracle through a lad, he can through us too. We just have to believe that it is possible!!
He also spoke about the importance of setting goals for yourself!! and he shared an analogy...a high school basketball player today is just as good as an NBA player 40 years ago. why? because the bar was set, we reach it. and then we become better. then a new bar/standard is set and we reach that. and as it goes on the potential just keeps going. its endless. If we set goals. to stretch us. we reach them. become better. set a new goal. reach that,,,and continue our potential is endless!!
`a journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step...so watch your step` one of the assistants shared this quote!! We start a new journey everyday! Watch your step!! Make sure your making the best choice!! :)
The conference finished with a video. YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT. it made me cry!! It is so powerful!! I think its called `the atonement..and missionary work?` its a compilation of a couple of talks....its says how on a mission we ask `why is this so hard?` `why am i not seeing any success?` etc... Jeffery R Holland says `why would we ever think it would be easy for us, when it was never easy for him.... when you are rejected, spat upon, cast out, ignored, you are just standing shoulder to shoulder with the greatest missionary there ever was!` WOW! I love my saviour soooo much. I know that whatever i, you or anyone goes through, no matter how hard it may seem, he has been through worse. If i ever feel like things are not going right i know that salvation was not easy, it was never easy. So perhaps sometimes it cannot be easy for us either!! Its a great video!!
We actually had stake conference this weekend too which was really great!! I couldnt understand everything but it started off the saturday session wiith the testimonies of a less active, recent convert, recently married in the temple. The spirit was so strong. and it was so great to hear all those testimonies at the different stages. Elder HOmer ( a seventy) spoke too....he taught how learning to walk seems frightening to a child, they need to have courage to take that one step, but they are afraid to fall. BUt it all starts with that one step!! Once they take the one step it becomes natural and they learn to run!!
We have many things in our life that stop us from taking our next step. We need to remember we are imperfect people on a journey to becoming someone better. he asked us are you ready to take the next step in your life? if you take the next step you will find blessings and you will learn how to run!! I LOVED IT!!
I saw president and sister Roney at stake conference too! and they said how amazing the Jordans are!! I agreed obviously!! They are two amaaaazing couples!!
Another miracle we had...so we had 2 cancellations....BUT we kept hope!! we got on the metro and heavenly father blessed us!! A member from France was there with a friend. who we find out is a less active member...who just moved into our area!! we got her number and set up a RDV with her!!! miracle!! The lord is really placing these people in our paths!!
Also our new ami, (*P) is so golden!! we gave him Moroni 10 to read and in the next appointment he brings out a notebook full of questions he had about the chapter and all the things he understood and learnt!!!! it was incredible. and then we invited him to stake conference!!! and he came! and loved it!! we are seeing him on friday!!! He is so inspiring. i cant believe i have the privilege to help him!!
But all in all its been a really amazing week!!! I love being a missionary, it is THE greatest thing i have ever chosen to do.I can see how fast it is going already, so im taking in every moment!!!!
I am soooooo excited to Skype you all!!! AHHHHHHH see your beautiful faces...hey no judging on the chubby face ive created!! haha¨!!!
