BONJOUR TO MY AMAZING FAMILY and FRIENDS!!
So we meet our new president this week. on saturday so i will let you know how that goes. i am so excited to meet them!! And i get to see elder spoors aswell! which is a bonus!! man i love that guy! he is doing so great! such an incredible missionary! so this week is going to be epic! i can see it already!!
well you have had an epic week! so have i...you knew that was coming didnt ya...are you ready...HERE WE GOO....
so first i know your dieing to here....sister fagg survived the shrimp one more time. champion. haha! It was a challenge but i endured well! haha!
oh and another thing...whos birthday is next people?? haha!!!
AND can you beleve this past week was the half way point of this transfer!!! WHERE IS THE TIME GOING!!! we only have 3 weeks left!!! crazy!! and in the next transfer i hit my 6 month mark...then a year to go...this is freaking me out!!! anyway...
So this week was amazing!! so i dont know if youve heard thomas s monson say something like `` nothing is more satisfying than following a prompting, acting on it, and it turning out to be an answer to someones prayer...if the lord needs to run an errand i want him to know that tom monson is ready..`` well that happened this week. we felt prompted to visit a member. And when we had shared our message etc at the door she said ``before you came i was feeling very bad, really bad, but now i feel completely calm and comforted, thank you.`` we followed the prompting, we acted on it and we were an answer to her prayers she needed that comfort. I too, want heavenly father to know if he needs an errand ran that sister fagg is ready to run it for him!! we need to all have this desire. We hear over and over how we can all be answers to peoples prayers. always. we just need to be ready to act on the promptings that we recieve!! it was a lovely experience!!
We had an exchange this week. Me and sister wilsher were in Renens with sister kehl (the sister WHO ALWAYS has a huge smile on her face and just has a glow about her) it was so great!! (i sent you some pictures of the exchange)... And something cool happened. so in the morning soeur Kehl felt like we needed to take a portuguese Book of mormon with us. Which is unusual. But we took it. And we were stopped by a lady who saw our badges and she explained how she used to live with her friend who was a member of this church, but she never spoke about religion with eachother, but she is interested to know and which language was best for her....PORTUGUESE. so we got out the book of mormon and gave it to her!! MIRACLE.
Cool contacting experience for you! We had 20 mins left to contact until we needed to leave. And we chose a man. And we find out 40 years ago he was here, and was contacted by the missionaries and even came to our church and went to see a baptism. And then he moved to france and lost contact with everyone. I just love that dont you? Out of everyone..we chose him. Well we were guided for sure because he was prepared!! I think i put the same experiences like this one in every email! haha sorry! i just find it so amazing!!
We had a ward BBQ this week! it was soooo great! we had amis there, members brought amis, there were games, arm wrestles (haha so funny) and the stmosphere was just so perfect. especially for amis. one of them said to us `` i love it here. i love how happy everyone is.`` seriously members make such a difference. It was one big family. I love it sooo much! reminded me of good old colchester!!! :)
So we had one interesting lesson this week. With a man who is a pastor for his own church. And we started to share our message and discuss a few things and he got very defensive, the tone of his voice was like debating all the time. every single thing we said he would like fight back with a scripture etc..and we explained how we were not there to debate about our beliefs but he just would not stop...and even though to an outsider the spirit really shouldnt of been there, it was. Whenever we were saying something i felt the spirit testify to me that what we were teaching was the truth, even if the man was throwing scripures against us etc. The spirit was there! it wasnt the nicest experience but i wont forget that feeling!
OK so on saturday we did a HUGE SERVICE! for the friend of the bishops. and us and the elders went to clean her house.! I wish i took a before and after picture to show you!! But it was so great to help them and make there home beautiful!! the kids got so excited when they could sit on their sofa!! it was incredible!! And they were sooo grateful so it was so worth it! but man i dont think anything can match up to that!! haha!!
Sooo my talk...haha!! no it was actually fine!! i think people were just being nice afterwards! but i think at least half of them understood what i was saying!! haha! i just have a strong british accent when i speak french. but im working on it. i dont think it will ever go but i will keep trying to sound french!! haha!! But i spoke on how the scriptures are our liahona for us, everyday- and how the book of mormon was written for us and our time. The prophets wrote with us in mind.!! its so incredible how lucly we are to have these words, this guidance for us. I spoke about how important it is to fully understand that we can truly receive guidance in our daily lives when we read the scriptures, and in alma 37:38,40 - it speaks about the liahona and how it only worked on their faith. So the scriptures, yes, are our liahona but we only receive the guidance we need as we show our faith, as we study really well etc!! But yeah i think it went pretty well, even it i was pooing myself before!! haha!!
I found this beauty i wanted to share with you!"
```the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes`` (i dont know if ive sent that before, but i found it again this week and i love it so much`) --- especially with reading the words of our prophets and the scriptues, we have never and will never discover everything. sometimes we may think...oh yeah ive read lehis dream a million times i know it well. i promise you each time you read it youll discover something new. Sometimes we just need to look with spiritual eyes!!
So that was my splendid week!!
