BONJOUR to the most incredible family and friends there is.
You had ANOTHER INCREDIBLE WEEK. so good to hear. And I have enjoyed reading your emails and seeing the MANY pictures (love it) and the pouts.
So we just found out that Linda k burton is coming to Lausanne, to give a special conference?? At the end of October. So I hope I stay!! Because that will be an amazing experience!!
Oh my goodness have I had an incredible week. Yes I have. I cannot believe we are now going into the very last week of this transfer. ERM someone tell me where those last six weeks went please. And give them back to me. But I am SO excited to just have the best week ever this week, we have a lot of cool things already planned. And I just can't wait. I have a feeling that my companion will be leaving me, as she has been here for a long time. But we never know. I have learnt a huge amount this last transfer, and I am so very grateful for everything that I have encountered!! It's been one fun transfer. This next transfer is the half way point of the transfer in my mission. We get twelve transfers as a sister missionary and I will be going into my sixth!! CRAZY!! I am so thankful for the many maaaaany things I have learnt and hope to continue to learn here in the mission field. It truly is INCREDIBLE.
SO are you ready to hear about my incredible week?? I KNEW IT!!! Here we goooo...
Sooo...drum roll please...THE FISH EATING returns to sister Faggs mission!!! Hahaha. And oh my days, family this was DEFINATELY my hardest challenge yet. I cannot even put into words. HAHA!! It was a huge chunk of fish and really thick!! I got half way through and I just let my mind get the better of me and thought about what I was eating and I gagged. LUCKILY she did not see me. But I COULD NOT get this down!!! It was difficult. But I endured and gulped two glasses of juice down with it. Hahaha. Then a phone call saved me and me and sister yaka yake did the cheeky switch. And I threw it on her plate and she ate the rest. LIFE SAVER. Seriously though...it was a hard moment. Haha. I just thought you would like to know it has returned ...
MIRACLE- we were contacting and we both walked past a girl, now before we had left the apartment sister yaka yake felt she needed to take another Book of Mormon with her. And we had prayed beforehand to really find "the one" ... As we walked past the girl. we said "bonjour" and then kept walking. Without saying one word to one another, me and my companion turned around and called after her. We felt strongly we needed to speak with her. We ended up giving her a Book of Mormon, reading with her. And committing her to continue reading. She agreed as she LOVES to read. So was a miracle. And was placed right in our path. I am thankful for the spirit which guided the both of us to turn right around and introduce the Book of Mormon into this girls life. The Book of Mormon has changed my life. I learn so much each time I read and I KNOW it was written for our generation!! I am thankful that I have the opportunity to share this life changing book with others.
District meeting- you know I just love being with all the missionaries. It just lifts me up. We spoke about how we should measure success as a missionary. It IS NOT how many baptisms we have, or if we are assistant to the president or an stl. That is not success. We measure the success of our mission by our personal commitment to the work.
And it was a really fun meeting. We played the spirit game. Where your companion is blind folded and you are guiding them, and Saran is trying to get to them. It was hilarious as you can imagine (I promise we don't just have fun! We do work! Haha)it reminded me of our good old fhe days!! :)
I know how much you missed my "we are always guided" moment last week. But this week we were sitting on the bench waiting for our train. And we starting speaking to the man sitting with us. He saw our plaques and said "your Mormons!!" Haha.. It caught us by surprise. But we replied with a bug YES!! He explained how he used to live in Geneva and was taught by the missionaries there. And he has been here for eight months. We are now going to be contacting him. Truly another testimony for you that we are where we are, at the time and place to bring children unto Christ. And I just love it.
Little random note for you.. I've started dreaming in French!! Haha it's really weird. And you guys speak French...so keep it up!! HAHAHA it's hilarious. Anyway...
GENERAL CONFERENCE. What an incredible one it was. WOW!! Seriously. I cannot wait to re read all the talks and gain more inspiration and answers. I don't know about you. But pretty much all my questions, worries, fears were answered. The spirit works through us, he comforts us and testifies truths to our heart. I had a wonderful conference experience and I can see that you all did too!!!
Our footballer ami came to conference and another ami came too. That was a miracle. And during the session he turned to me and said " can I have a paper and pen?" And he was writing things down the whole way through. They absolutely loved it.
It nearly brought me to tears seeing our beloved prophet struggle to stand towards the end of his talk, and struggle to find his words. It pretty much broke my heart, because we see him getting weaker. But his message is forever strong!! I love how no matter how weak he is physically he still manages to give a huge smile and wave as he exits the conference center. What a hero!!
I had a wonderful experience as Russell.m Nelson was speaking on the newly called apostles. As he was speaking I recieved a strong impression in my heart that they are called of God. I sustain them, and all the apostles and prophet with all my heart!
Well you know I could right 10000 pages on my notes from conference. Hahaha. But I will share a few of my favourite quotes so far!!!:
- "our commitment and dedication service makes all the difference to our gospel experience"- "exaltation is our goal. Discplship is the journey!" - president uchtdorf.
-" hold into gospel truths with both hands, you cannot jump ship and swin on your own. You will not make it. Hold on tight and we will make it to our eternal destination." - Russell Ballard
" the joy we find in the life DEPENDS on how centered our lives are on Jesus Christ." - Richard maynes
" he takes us as we are, and lifts us higher, to heights unimaginable. We do not need to be any MORE of anything (rich, popular etc) to become what he would have us become."
"God didn't design us to be sad, but to be happy." - president uchtdorf
" faith and doubt cannot exist at the same time. One will out do the other" -prophet
" reach up NOt across. He gives the greatest counsel." - Robert d hales
And mum how I loved Jeffrey r Hollands talk on mothers. Thank you for being so amazing. You are my hero. And I am in your debt for how much you have done for me. As Russell m Nelson spoke, and described the beautiful characteristics of a covenant keeping woman. My thoughts went straight to you, then to all the incredible woman I have or have had in my life; nanna, grandma, sue, all my teachers and aunties. I have been so lucky to have been surrounded by so many wonderful women. Thank you all!
And just a little quick one of my personal studies. I was studying alma chapter 34 and at the end of verse 38 it says " live in thanksgiving daily" ... From the conference we were given a lot of questions we should be asking ourselves like "what can I do more? etc" but I think this needs to be another one. " am I really living in thanksgiving?" As we ask this. Evaluate and change we will be happier. The lords hands touches our lives every single day, I am a witness of that! It will just open our eyes we will see. And we will start to thank him more.
So that was my epic week. This next week we have an exchange from Tuesday to Wednesday with sister greciano (woo) on Thursday we are doing a zone finding day in bienne. So I get to see another part of Swiss, that should be fun. And we are going to be working with the German alpine missionaries (I wonder if elder mateer is in that area...that would be funny!) haha. And then on Friday we receive the transfer calls. I am excited for whatever happens. Family, I am so happy. And I can see from the gorgeous smiles on your faces. That YOU ARE TOO. And that makes me even more happy. Never stop being happy, there is never a reason not to be!!
I love you all so much. You do not even know. You are my heroes. Never stop touching the lives of others by living the gospel you know to be true, joyfully.
Have another INCREDIBLE week. Every week is incredible. Don't change it.
I love youuuuuu
LOVE YOUR ONE AND ONLY...
SISTER FAGG XXXXXXXXX
-also the address for our apartment. Maybe it's best to put "the missionaries" followed by sister Fagg. Because "the missionaries" is on our mailbox..not sister Fagg. Haha.
